Metallography of stainless steels
Hasoňová, Michaela ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Zmrzlý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with metallography of stainless steels. At the beginning of theoretical part the history of metallography is shortly summarized. Then the basic knowledge about metallography, ways and methods of preparing samples for subsequent analysis of structure are resumed. There are also summarized methods for examining the macrostructure and microstructure of materials with a particular focus on stainless steels. The literary-search section summarizes recent advances in the study of the structure of materials using methods of metallography. The task of the study was to find suitable composition of etchant to reveal the structure of stainless steels in order to achieve high quality and especially reproducible results.
Machining of stainless steels
Perončík, Martin ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is specialized to solving of problems of stainless steels machining. There is carried out the analysis of stainless steels in term of marking, chemical composition, physical and mechanical properties. In the following it deals with analysis of machining, spe-cification of geometry and material of cutting tools and cutting conditions.
Progressive anticorrosive metal materials
Bombera, Mojmír ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is aimed at stainless steels problem. At the beginning history of steel and one of the biggest issue of steel, corrosion is described. Next part show basic type of stainless steels, their material characteristic, properties and possibilities of usage. After that metallurgy of stainless steels and process follows. In last topic of this bachelor work samples of usage in various branges are presented.
Segregation during solidification in austenitic-ferritic stainless steels
Kejha, Richard ; Čech, Jan (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The master thesis deals with processes of segregation in austenitic-ferritic stainless steels. The introductory part consists of characteristics features of austenitic-ferritic steels and theoretical analysis of segregation processes. The second part shows practical measurements of segregation in experimental casting. Macrosegregation was measured on a spectrometric analyzer and simultaneously solved in the simulation program MAGMA. The aim of this thesis is to verify the effect of solidification time and dwell time between liquidus and solidus temperature on the chemical heterogeneity of duplex stainless steel casting of about 500 [mm]. Chemical heterogeneity was solved for selected alloying and accompanying elements such as C, Mo, Ni, Mn, Cr. The microsegregation was not addressed. Comparison of the mechanical properties of cast and heat treated duplex steel was done by tensile testing of samples cut from the center of the casting.
Modern materials and technologies for the manufacture of equipment designed to work in corrosive environment
Kollár, Pavel ; Horáček, Milan (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This paper work is aimed at stainless steels, which presents very interesting segment of metalurgical produce for engineers as well as like for technologists. This part of metallurgy involvees with a wide range in general and there are still new ways in use for stainless steels. This work is focused to introduce the issue of stainless steel in general, inclusive possibility of use of this materials in practice.
Corrosion resistant and heat resistant steels
Kříž, Petr ; Tulka, Jaromír (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with stainless steels and heat resistant steels. It speaks about their chemical composition, heat treatment, structure and options of its practical usage in various fields. One of its parts is also focused on corrosion in general, corrosion types, economic impacts, kinds of corrosion attacks and factors which affect her.
Arc welding of stainless steels for demanding working conditions
Matějíček, Josef ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis introduced deals with Arc welding of stainless steel. With welding technology, used by company DIAMO, the connected pipes, flanges and plates are for guiding the Sodium Sulphate solution, which is obtained as by-product in production of Uranium. Corrosive attack and weld cracking occurs in the short period of time due to the chemical reaction. Based on information about materials, used additional materials and welding technology used I have evaluated materials with susceptibility to the corrosion and the formation of hot cracks. Using tests and calculations I have examined the susceptibility of austenitic stainless steel to intergranular corrosion. Austenitic-ferritic stainless steel was also used as a theoretical solution for larger spectrum of materials. After calculations and evaluations of the trial tests I have conducted discussion and recommendations for use in practice.
Macrosegregation and microsegregation in austenitic CrNi steels
Ostratický, Marek ; Čech, Jan (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with segregation cycles in austenitic CrNi steels. In first section deals with theory of macrosegregation and microsegregation cycles. The second part is focused on this cycles in experimental casting. Macrosegregation was measured by spectrometric analyser and by MAGMA simulation program. Microsegregation was measured by electron microscope. The aim of this diploma thesis is verify the influence of setting conditions on heterogenity chemical composition in austenitic CrNi steel. For experimental casting with a wall thickness of about 500 mm will be verified effect of the setting time, residence time between solid and liquid phases and others parameters for macrosegregation and microsegregation in selected elements.
